Introduction to the structure of outboard motors

Outboard motor is a kind of ship accessories. It provides power for the hull. It is generally installed on the outside of the stern. The main use of outboard motor is some small boats, but the power of outboard motor can basically reach Standard for daily use. There are two power modes for outboard motors: electric and gasoline.Small boats using outboard motors generally only travel on small rivers, large rivers or at sea. The power provided by outboard motors is not sufficient, and the possibility of accidents becomes very high. Therefore, the scope of use of outboard motors is in inland rivers. In this way, the power provided by the outboard engine is sufficient.

1. Electric outboard motor

The development of electric outboard motors has benefited from the development of brushless DC motor technology. We use AC power daily, but batteries can only generate DC power, so a new type of electric motor is needed to convert electrical energy.

According to the position of the motor, the electric outboard motor can be divided into two types: the lower motor and the upper motor. As the name suggests, this is defined according to the placement of the motor, one is placed above the outboard motor and the other is placed below the outboard motor.

The energy conversion rate of electric outboard motors is very high, but the problem of energy has never been solved. Modern battery technology is already in a bottleneck period, and battery problems restrict the development of many products.

2. Fuel outboard engine

The fuel outboard engine is converted into mechanical energy by the chemical energy of chemical dyes, and then transmitted through the electric motor. The fuel outboard engine has three main components: power head, gear box, and propeller.

Generally, according to the different dyes used, we can divide outboard engines into gasoline outboard engines, diesel outboard engines, liquefied petroleum gas outboard engines and kerosene outboard engines.

Each outboard motor has its own advantages and limitations.
